Under the direction of the Information Technology Supervisor II, the Information Technology Specialist I (ITS I) is responsible for demonstrating full competence in a specialized analytical role and is responsible for providing on going Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD), California Law Enforcement Telecommunications System (CLETS), and Web Workstation (WebWS) support and maintenance within the California Highway Patrol (CHP). The ITS I will serve as project lead and work on IT system problems, serve as the advanced technical specialist performing complex activities, including evaluation, design, development, and implementation for new and improved applications and/or procedures to optimize CAD and CLETS hardware and software for the Department.

Working Conditions
This position is eligible for a hybrid telework schedule upon completion of the probationary period for employees who can satisfactorily perform their essential work functions independently and remotely. Specific telework schedules may be discussed further during the interview process. Telework is only available to residents of California.

Describe your experience leading a technical team. Include the most important values and qualities that you demonstrate as a team leader, your leadership style, and how you motivate your team for success. Describe your experience and familiarity in discovering, assessing, designing, architecting, and delivering large, complex enterprise solutions that were considered mission critical. Please highlight an example and your role in the project or effort. Describe your experience with security assessment best practices, including a Plan of Action and Milestones, as it relates to identifying and resolving information security risks within critical system infrastructure. Provide specific examples from your experience.
