About the Department
The Department of General Services (DGS) seeks a skilled and experienced information technology ( IT Specialist II ) professional to join the DGS Information Technology team in support of business operations for DGS Division of Facilities Management (DFM) as well as other IT related duties for DGS.

The successful candidate must be able to understand DFM's business operation requirements and communicate those requirements as well as the resulting technical needs to the IT supervisor and DGS management team.

Minimum Qualifications
Experience: Two (2) years of professional experience in the information technology fields in areas such as Microsoft Active Directory support, Microsoft operating systems management and administration, mobile devices (hardware and OS) support, web page and site content development, and reports design & development.
Education: Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field from an accredited college or university. Preferred certifications : Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer, Microsoft Certified Database Administrator, CompTIA (A+, Security+), etc. or equivalent certifications.
Equivalency: An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted. For applicants possessing very hard-to-find skills which are a critical need to the department/agency, training and certification may be accepted in lieu of full degree requirements.
Physical Ability: Ability to lift boxes containing computer support items and equipment such as printers, computers, modems, and monitors weighing up to 50 pounds.

- Provide software support, including but not limited to
- MS Office applications, such as Outlook, Word, Excel, SharePoint
- MS Office 365 suite, such as Teams, OneDrive, etc.
- County ePortal apps, such as MCTime, eLearning, etc.
- Third-part applications, such as Adobe Acrobat Pro, AutoCAD, etc.
- Resolve hardware (computers, printers, networks, etc.) problems
- Manage Active Directory users and computers objects
- Administer mobile devices and billing
- Maintain DFM Internet and Intranet (SharePoint) sites
- Support a web-based (cloud) Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) system
- Set up access and permission control for network file shares
- Solve telework/VPN related issues
- Oversee software licenses
- Create Standard Operating Procedure (SOP)
- Develop reports
- Fulfill assigned tasks
Who We Are Seeking
The selected candidate will have the following competency in/knowledge of:
- MS Power BI or MS Power Platform
- Crystal Reports Solutions, Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), or Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition (OBIEE)
- Web-based (cloud) systems (configuration and customization)
- GIS software such as ESRI ArcGIS Pro
- Any database and SQL
- Any programming language
