Summary

2024 Cost of Living Allowance (COLA) for Honolulu, HI is 8.90%.

This position will remain open until filled with a first cutoff date of 14 August 2024 for employment consideration. Additional lists will be pulled after this first cut-off date at the request of the hiring manager.

Duties

Under general supervision, performs routine and recurring assignments in the planning and delivery of a full range of network services to the organization. Identifies and resolves issues and problems using analytical methods and practices. Performs network system design, development, testing, installation, operations, management, and maintenance. Manages the organizations network architecture, topology, and protocols. Evaluates established methods and procedures and prepares recommendations for changes in methods and practices where appropriate. Presents verbal and written communications on the application of new and emerging technologies or industry trends. Reports, responds to, and resolves network service requests. Applies information security and information assurance policy, principles and practices.

  • Must be willing to work on-call 24/7 on a weekly rotation basis to resolve technical IT related emergencies.


Qualifications

1. Master's degree or equivalent graduate degree, or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education (24 semester hours) in computer science/engineering, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, technology management, or fields that required the development or adaptation of information technology applications, systems, or networks. OR

Three (3) years of specialized experience as follows: a) Performing complex network installations and remote configuration of various network devices. b) Reporting, responding to, and resolving network service requests. Experience in remote troubleshooting and repair with tier 1 onsite support. c) Preparing presentations, delivering network training, and communicating complex network issues telephonically to customers in remote locations. d) Evaluating/troubleshooting network systems (design, testing, installation, operations, management, and maintenance), and developing solutions to improve network performance. All candidates must demonstrate proficiency in the following competencies as they relate to providing IT network services: Attention to Detail; Customer Service; Verbal Communication; and Problem Solving.

2. Possess or have the ability to obtain (within 6 months) and maintain Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or current equivalent certification.

3. Possess an Information Assurance baseline security certification of Security+ equivalent or higher certification in accordance with DoD 8570.01-M, Information Assurance Technical, Level II technicians.

-At least 5 years of work experience in Information Technology.

- Information Technology experience in a hotel environment.

- Lift and carry heavy objects weighing up to 50 pounds.

- 2 years of work experience directly with Cisco network switch equipment, configuration and CLI, installation, patching, and management in an enterprise environment, within the last 3 years.
