CLASSIFICATION TITLE: Information Systems Technician

DEFINITION

Under general direction, maintains, operates, and supports a variety of client support, financial, payroll, and customer relationship management information systems for BLEHEALTH.

Information Systems Technicians identify, troubleshoot, and resolve problems encountered by users of desktop systems, Microsoft Office products, Internet, and other computer technology; troubleshoot and solve local-area network problems; provide technical computer hardware and software support to end-users; install, test, certify and troubleshoot networking cabling systems; install configured network equipment; provide technical expertise to end-users regarding optimal set-up for software, hardware, and network use; install, configure, monitor and troubleshoot network and data communications software and hardware; train users in various software applications and network-related procedures; and perform related work as required.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Care manager duties

Data Analyst: Proficient in VLOOK-UP, Microsoft Excel, Conditional Formatting, Pivot Table, PowerPoint Presentation.
  • Build reports and submit reports
  • Assists with data and information gathering for targeted variables in an established systematic fashion by cleaning and organizing data; querying, merging, and extracting data across sources; completing routine data refresh and update; and providing user support and documentation.
  • Assists with data preparation for analytic efforts under the guidance of more senior employees by cleaning data to ensure quality and accuracy based on provided guidelines; and consolidating data.
  • Assists with the execution of creative data analytic approaches leading to actionable outcomes by conducting basic analyses under the guidance of more senior employees, including descriptive statistics.
  • Assists with data analysis interpretation under the guidance of more senior employees by organizing reports and presentations telling a compelling story to stakeholders to enable and influence decision-making

Technology Infrastructure Planning: Conduct participatory process to develop infrastructure architecture plans and roadmaps consistent with Company needs and rapidly evolving technology options. Plans must be affordable while balancing security issues, supportability and ease of access to information.
  • Scope is to include all voice and data infrastructure: Servers (applications, file and print, access, special services, etc.), Connectivity (LAN, WAN, remote access, Internet), Workstations (desktops, laptops, PDAs and other mobile devices), Voice systems (telephones systems, voice mail systems, mobile phones)
  • Assists in maintaining computer systems; installs and supports software applications including Microsoft Office products, financial and customer relationship management (CRM) systems, browser applications, and peripheral equipment; sets up users and security settings; researches user inquiries and new technology; troubleshoots and resolves computer operating, software/hardware, database problems and provides technical support as requested; communicates with vendors to resolve issues; supports reporting systems; provides information to staff and users, prepares and maintains documentation related to computer systems and operations; tests new software with various operating systems; updates software for users as released by vendor; ensures security of data and access privileges as programs and staff change; works with area director and program leads to design and maintain information security, privacy, and online safety; provides support, training, and technical advice.
  • Communicates technical concepts in non-technical terms; develops procedures, forms, and other Company tools to manage projects and monitor timelines; maintains open communication between staff and users; prepares correspondence related to work duties; performs responsible practices that support and enforce information systems policies, rules and regulations, maintains confidentiality of information and data related to clients, residents, donors, volunteers, and staff.

Manage IT compliance activities

Policy Updates: Oversee the review and updating of IT policies per Company Policy on Policies.

Audits: Coordinate efforts to respond to the recurring and/or spontaneous audits that require a response from IT. Includes but is not limited to: Financial audits, line-of-service partner questionnaires/audits.

Coordination: Coordinate with other teams within the Company, such as the Compliance team, on policy and compliance activities that are cross-functional.

Manage stakeholder and vendor relationships

Vendors: Manage vendor relationships including oversight of contract review and negotiation activities.

Inventory: Maintain an inventory of software applications used throughout the Company, who uses the applications, and what business needs are being addressed by the applications.

Position Requirements (Include education, experience, special skills and licenses or certifications required.):

• Bachelors' degree in Computer Science, related degree or equivalent experience is required.

• 2 years experience managing Information Technology

• 2 years experience Systems Admin experience in a LAN/WAN environment

• In depth knowledge of environments consisting of multiple sites and connectivity needs

• Knowledge of industry trends and evolving technology.

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills: ability to effectively liaise with colleagues on all levels

• Vision and hearing are essential to the work of this position.

Possession of a valid California driver's license; ability and willingness to travel on work assignments.
