Salisbury University is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Infrastructure Operations Engineer.This is a full-time exempt State position with full benefits.

Job Summary

Design, implement, and troubleshoot infrastructure operations systems and software, Layer 2/3 switching and routing from the core to access levels, Voice Over IP (VOIP) and telephony solutions, wireless architecture and RF design, Intelligent infrastructure device operations (cameras, building automation, etc), data center infrastructure. and automated monitoring and graphing solutions.

Monitor, analyze and develop measures to maximize infrastructure performance and availability to meet academic, administrative, and student requirements. Assist in the engineering, implementation, and coordination of a wide variety of infrastructure activities and projects. Control, evaluate and execute corrective actions to protect the University from cyber-attacks and data loss.

Authority and Accountability

Reports directly to Eric Rose, Director of Infrastructure Operations. This position does not have supervisory responsibility. This position does not have budgetary responsibility or authority.

Required Education: A Bachelor's degree in information technology, business administration, or a related field, preferred. Related experience may be substituted for the education requirement above on a year-for-year basis with one year of full-time experience being equivalent to 30 college undergraduate credits. For this position the total professional equivalency is 4 years.

Required Experience: 3 or more years of professional experience

Preferred Qualifications

Experience engineering, configuring, and maintaining infrastructure systems, unified communications, and security equipment, solutions, and programs is desirable.
