We are looking for two motivated Infrastructure Specialist 3's to join our team at the Ohio Department of Insurance. The Infrastructure Specialist 3 positions will assist the service and/or security team in in various technologies utilized at the Department. Ideal candidates would have exceptional, demonstrated experiences in solution design, problem solving, and team leadership/mentoring. The candidates should also be organized and able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Your Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

Primary Technology: Microsoft Windows, Microsoft NW, Application Distribution

Secondary Technology: MS Windows Server, Fixed/Mobile Admin, Directory Services
  • Evaluates effectiveness and risk of Information Technology (IT) processes and Desktops. Recommends and implements changes in IT procedures to meet customer needs.
  • Evaluates and/or researches hardware and/or software solutions and provides feedback to project team or higher-level staff. Interfaces and/or performs work with other applications, or platforms and desktops.
  • Assists in providing IT consultation and recommendations for implementation, ensuring services are not compromised. Provides technical IT leadership and support for integration of various related systems. Participates in and/or provides technical IT assistance to achieve project tasks/meet deadlines.
Unless required by legislation or union contract, the final candidate can expect to be paid at the lowest step in the pay range (step 1). As an Infrastructure Specialist 3, you will receive a raise after six (6) months and yearly step increases until you reach the top level of the pay range. There may also be possible cost of living adjustments (COLA) and longevity supplements begin after five (5) years of state service.

Qualifications

60 months combined work experience in any combination of the following: evaluating effectiveness and risk of it processes, recommending changes in IT procedures to meet customer needs, and evaluating and/or researching hardware and/or software solutions and providing feedback to project team or higher-level staff including 12 months work experience in the primary technology specified by the agency in the position description & job posting.

-Or completion of associate core program in computer science or information systems; 42 months combined work experience in any combination of the following: evaluating effectiveness and risk of it processes, recommending changes in IT procedures to meet customer needs, and evaluating and/or researching hardware and/or software solutions and providing feedback to project team or higher-level staff including 12 months work experience in the primary technology specified by the agency in the position description & job posting.

-Or completion of undergraduate core program in computer science or information systems; 36 months combined work experience in any combination of the following: evaluating effectiveness and risk of it processes, recommending changes in IT procedures to meet customer needs, and evaluating and/or researching hardware and/or software solutions and providing feedback to project team or higher-level staff including 12 months work experience in the primary technology specified by the agency in the position description & job posting.
