Job Duties

The Virginia Information Technologies Agency (VITA) is currently seeking an Integration Services Operations Manager to join the VITA Enterprise Solutions team. The position is responsible for delivering enterprise services supporting mission-critical customer applications and data. Position requires candidates with proven enterprise operations experience with datacenter, hybrid-cloud and multi-cloud architectures The operations manager role includes managing vendors and ensuring they deliver on all requirements. The operations manager is responsible for ensuring all services are compliant with VITA security and enterprise architecture standards including Information Security Standard (SEC530).

VITA Integration Services leverage enterprise software running on IBM on-premise hardware, virtualized servers and in approved COV cloud environments. The services portfolio also includes Oracle workloads, support for enterprise applications and hybrid-cloud integrations. The technical environment is UNIX, Linux and Windows servers deployed as virtual machines and Kubernetes container-based instances. Candidates must have a strong technical background with relevant experience in these areas.

Responsibilities:
  • The Integration Services Operations Manager interfaces with agency customers and is focused on delivering services that help agencies provide services to Virginia agencies and residents.
  • The position will seek to continuously improve operations and delivery streams, and maintain a scalable architecture for all approved services, while improving or adding to service offerings.
  • Must have experience using ITIL and other managed services principles.
  • Compliance with service governance is a key aspect of this role.
  • Ensure all services are compliant and current with service documentation requirements.
  • Maintain and execute the patching schedule is a core function of this role. Overseeing security vulnerability remediation and ensuring security patches are implemented.
  • Must maintain processes and procedures for service operations.
  • Processes must be up-to-date and followed.
  • Ensure consistent service delivery and service quality. Services must be available and evolve based on customer needs and compliance requirements.
Minimum Qualifications

Demonstrated enterprise service operations skills and experience in service delivery.

Experience with Service and Operational Level Agreements.

Knowledge and experience with virtualization and container architectures.

Architectural and operational familiarity with Public, Private, and Hybrid Cloud Technologies.

Demonstrated ability to plan and execute in a highly dynamic, complex environment.

Experience with Client/Stakeholder management.

Ability to develop and effectively communicate complex technology concepts.

Previous experience with vendors in negotiating and executing statements of work.

Project management experience with multiple enterprise level project implementations.

Experience working as a Senior Information Technology Integrator/Solution Architect role.

Knowledge of enterprise database and development environments.

Experience in enterprise security and maintaining compliance per security standards.

Additional Considerations

Previous service operations experience, ITIL certification.

Experience with IBM Power architecture and AIX operating system.

Experience with Kubernetes and RedHat OpenShift Container Platform.

College degree or other certification in Information Technology or an associated discipline.

Experience in the State and Local government managed services.

Knowledge of Information Technology security standards such as SEC530 and NIST

Knowledge of Federal Standards such as HIPAA and Publication 1075

General networking knowledge
