About the Position:

The Virginia State Police (VSP) is seeking to hire an Intelligence Analyst Supervisor in our Virginia Fusion Center at our Administrative Headquarters in North Chesterfield, Virginia. The successful candidate will direct and supervise the Cyber Response Team in the Virginia Fusion Center; ensure procedures and policies are followed; and analysis and responses to inquiries are professional and prompt. Coordinate and/or assists in responses and investigations of cyber incidents impacting the Commonwealth, including the identification, collection, and dissemination of technical indicators; provide specialized technical case and operational support in order to provide a detailed picture of events as they occurred and enable cyber intelligence analysts and external stakeholders to connect those events with malicious cyber actors, tools, indicators of compromise, and tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTP's); provide technical and analytical support capabilities to law enforcement investigations and technical insight for intelligence products; produce tactical cyber intelligence products focused on the sharing of technical indicators of malicious cyber activity; analyze a variety of classified, sensitive, partner, and open-source reporting for cyber information relevant to partners and/or the Fusion Center; provide technical insight to partners regarding new cyber trends and patterns, TTPs, tools, or actors; and maintain liaison with other agencies with regard to cyber activity.

Minimum Qualifications

•Working knowledge of Operating Systems and network protocols; of tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs) used by various malicious cyber actors; of various security methodologies, processes, and hardware including firewalls, intrusion detection systems (IDS) and intrusion prevention systems (IPS), or similar systems; of understanding computer forensic techniques.
•Working knowledge of supervision, management, and leadership principles.
•Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
•Demonstrated ability to collect, analyze, summarize, interpret, and communicate information and technical data orally and in writing; to communicate effectively in English with staff and external partners to ensure goals and objectives are met; and to clearly translate technical topics for a variety of non-technical audiences.
•Must have a valid driver's license and ability to obtain a federal security clearance.
•Requires three-year commitment to the Virginia Fusion Center and ability to work rotating shifts, weekends, and holidays.
•High School Diploma or GED equivalent.

Additional Considerations

•The following is beneficial but not required: log analysis, NetFlow analysis, incident response, malware analysis, computer forensics, and/or penetration testing services.
•Experience in computer science, information technology, information systems, cybersecurity, criminal justice, social sciences, public safety, or intelligence analysis preferred.
•Supervisory experience in a technology-focused or government organization is desired.
