Pay

This position is a Temporary position at pay grade 103.

Attendance

Non-rotating 40-hour work week, Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm; must be available to work additional hours as needed.

Overview

Interns will be given special assignments depending on their special interest and skills. The special assignment will expand their educational learning from the internship and they will have a mentor among the staff who will supervise the special assignment. Interns will gain real-life work experience that complements their education.

Responsibilities

• Assist in application development, design, installation, configuration, upgrades, maintenance, and troubleshooting

• Learn methods and techniques for evaluating software application requirements

• Participate, with other IT team members, in requirements definitions, identifying end-user operational and customer service delivery needs

• Assist in developing functional specifications used to procure and deploy specialized applications

• Provide support for application development and implementation

• Work closely with customers, business analysts, and team members to understand business requirements that drive the analysis and design of quality technical solutions

• Align solutions with business and IT strategies that comply with the organization's architectural standards

• Install and configure business software applications

• Assist in creating reports for customers and staff using enterprise reporting tools

• Collaborate with cross functional teams to maintain efficiency, consistency, and achieve successful implementation of application

• Collaborate with team to create test plans, analyze test cases, identify issues, and escalate them to appropriate teams

• Perform integration testing

• May be asked to perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Requires two (2) years of college and currently enrolled. Must have a successful completing with a minimum grade of 2.0 within the twelve (12) month period of date of application to the City's Student Intern Program.

Basis of Rating

Application review and the City may also conduct additional skill assessment tests, in addition to the panel interview.
