Position Summary
The purpose of this internship is to assist Electro-Mechanical Engineering in a number of projects and to provide a learning platform in a business setting.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
• Participate in the development or sustaining activities of medical devices in our infusion pumps product line.
• Perform engineering work requiring full competency in all conventional aspects of engineering, including electrical, mechanical, and reliability engineering.
• Plans and conducts work requiring judgment in the independent evaluation, selection and the substantial adaption of standard engineering techniques, procedures, and requirements.
• Conduct testing for assigned projects.
o Engineering testing / studies
o Hardware Performance Verification Testing
o Reliability testing
o Load testing using Instron
o EMC testing
• Prepare documentation associated with engineering activities.
• Determine resolution of moderate technical issues as needed and assure that technical work meets specified requirements.
• Participate in intern class activities
• Work on special projects as assigned
Knowledge & Skills
• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively to management and cross functional team members
• Ability to work effectively in a fast paced, rapidly changing environment
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to work independently and organize/prioritize job assignments and tasks
• Ability to take work direction as a learning opportunity
• Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Power Point, Project)
• Enrolled in an accredited college program
Minimum Qualifications, Education & Experience
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• High School Diploma required
Work Environment
• This is largely a sedentary role.
• This job operates in a professional office environment and routinely uses standard office equipment.
• Typically requires travel less than 5% of the time
