This position is expected to start in-person around August or September 2024 and continue through the entire fall term (i.e. through end of 2024) or into early 2025 if available. We ask for a minimum of 12 weeks, full-time and on-site, for most internships. Please consider before submitting an application.

International Students: If your work authorization is through CPT, please consult your school on your ability to work 40 hours per week before applying. You must be able to work 40 hours per week on-site. Many students will be limited to part-time during the academic year.

Tesla is seeking a highly motivated Individual to engage in and complete an internship as an Additive Manufacturing Programmer/Operator to program and operate SLA/SLS/FDM equipment in our highly advanced Rapid Prototyping operation.


Responsibilities
  • Blend powder, add resin, and change material canisters on the Additive Manufacturing equipment
  • Break-out parts from builds, remove supports, and finish parts as required
  • Perform daily maintenance on machines as required
  • Turn machines and prepare for the next build
  • Program/operate 3D Systems and FormLabs SLA and SLS machines
  • Program/operate Stratasys, Markforged, and Bambu FDM machines
  • Operate, control, and optimize multiple RP processes from CAD file to finished part


Requirements
  • Some exposure operating and working in Rapid Prototyping / machining / fabrication environments
  • Ability to lift 50 - 80 lbs. without assistance
  • Ability to work with little supervision
  • Ability / willingness to learn new processes and procedures
  • Ability to follow instructions
  • Willingness to work overtime and/or week-ends as required, often with little to no advance notice, and sometimes for extended periods

    • Expected Compensation

      $20.00 - $50.00 + cash and stock awards + benefits

      Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
