Morgan Stanley's Investment Banking Division (IBD) builds and maintains close relationships with corporations and governments around the world in order to provide both traditional and innovative solutions that meet their individual strategic and financial needs.

Team Profile:

The IBD Business Control Unit within IBD Management supports IBD in executing a variety of strategic, financial, operational and regulatory initiatives, including the identification, evaluation and mitigation of risks arising from IBD business activities. This position provides an opportunity to oversee the execution and enhancement of the risk management and oversight processes for the IBD businesses and focuses on the client and deal execution risk management processes (including client and transaction controls, client onboarding and transactional due diligence) for the IBD and Global Capital Markets (GCM) businesses.

Key Responsibilities:

- Provide oversight of the client onboarding process for IBD and GCM transactions within the America

- Assist with the identification and evaluation of potential franchise risks arising from IBD client relationships and related business activitie

- Support the completion of diligence reviews for a given transaction, including assessing potential issues, coordinating between deal team and relevant control functions and escalating issues as needed

- Communicate developments on transactions to senior stakeholder

- Provide guidance to investment banking and global capital markets and/or operations teams on satisfying onboarding requirements for a given transaction

- Develop and implement strategic enhancements to the IBD and GCM onboarding process and related control

- Support training efforts related to client onboarding, deal execution processes and transaction due diligence for IBD

- Opportunity to support additional strategic initiatives and projects for the IBD Management team

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree, with 6 to 10 years of relevant financial industry experience; experience with client onboarding, KYC and anti-financial crimes related regulatory requirements a plu

- Solid analytical skills, with familiarity or interest in investment banking and capital markets activities and product

- Strong verbal and written communication skill

- Ability to establish and maintain positive intra-department and cross-functional working relationship

- Solution-oriented, with ability to "think out of the box" and to manage to tight timeline

- Ability to work independently, with strong attention to detail

- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and provide guidance to junior team member

Expected base pay rates for the role will be between 145000 and 250000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
