Job Description
Under the direction of the Director or Manager of End User Innovations, the IT Asset Manager is responsible for managing IT inventory functions and administrative operations for end user equipment procured centrally and distributed across the System.
The IT Asset Manager will work with local EITS staff, Desktop Support IT Asset Managers, Directors, facilitating and managing System wide end user equipment financial assets and non-financial assets. Transferring assets to the appropriate facility when required.
Duties & Responsibilities
Minimum Qualifications
1. A Baccalaureate Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting or related fields; and,
2. Five years of progressively responsible experience in the fields of administration, office management, methods analysis, systems analysis and documentation, forms designs and control, two of which shall have been in data processing and management information systems; and,
3. General knowledge of computer and communication capabilities, E.D.P. applications, systems analysis methodology, data management and information retrieval techniques; or,
4. Satisfactory combination of equivalent experience and education.

Job Description

Duties & Responsibilities
- Maintains records and databases containing information regarding deployed and on stock inventory of all end user equipment (financial and non-financial assets) procured centrally and distributed across the System, to include but not limited to make, model, PO numbers, serial number, IT Inventory number, location, device name, (if applicable)
- Works closely with facility local EITS staff, Desktop Support IT Asset Managers, Managers and Directors facilitating and managing System wide end user equipment (financial and non-financial assets) distributed to the facilities for various projects and initiatives
- Participates in budgetary planning, reviews operating costs, performs cost studies and assists with department budgets.
- Work with End User Device Lifecycle team to submit request for quotes and respond to equipment audits for assets under their care.
- Responsible and accountable for end user equipment deployed across the system used of hardware deployments and inventories in their care
- Ensure the transfer of permanently assigned assets to the local facility when appropriate
- Validate currently deployed equipment to ensure database records are current
- Update database records on MACs to ensure all data is always up to date

- Tracks quality throughout the product lifetime, Reports defects and process Relinquishment
- Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met
- Performs other duties as assigned/required

- IAITAM - Certified Asset Management Professional (CAMP) (not required)
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and other Requirements:
- Broad knowledge and expertise in the characteristics of computers, peripheral devices, communications systems and hardware capabilities, programming languages, E.D.P. applications, systems analysis methodology, data management and retrieval techniques
- Willingness to travel to the various facilities within the five boroughs
- Occasional weekend and alternative work schedule
Years of Experience:
- At least eight years related work experience; OR A satisfactory combination of education, training, and experience.
Equipment/Machines Operated:
- General Office equipment (computer, scanner, printer, phones)
