We seek a dedicated and experienced Supervisor to join the Academic Operations IT team in the Office of the Provost. In this role, you will play a critical role in ensuring the success of our operations. You'll be involved with and oversee various aspects of support services, team performance, and daily operations. As team lead, you will ensure that all IT-related operations run smoothly and align with our division's objectives, which may involve overseeing the installation, maintenance, and repair of IT systems and developing strategies to address technology gaps. This position reports to the Director of IT Operations.

Responsibilities:
Daily Operations management (25%):
  • Provide exceptional technical customer support to critical divisions within the university.
  • Ensure seamless day-to-day operations to meet customer expectations.
  • Collaborate with the team to deliver efficient and effective solutions.
  • Address inquiries, troubleshoot issues, and ensure timely resolution.
  • Develop and maintain sustainable, adaptable, and robust processes. Ensure operational procedures that relate to policy documentation are updated annually to represent and rebalance the interests of stakeholders to work through organizational challenges.
Technology Support (25%):
  • Provide comprehensive technology support to all AOIT customers.
  • Collaborate with other teams across VCU to maintain computer workstations and mobile devices on both campuses.
  • Continuously document internal systems and tools.
Performance Management and Team Development (20%):
  • Oversee team and individual goals throughout the performance management cycle.
  • Provide regular feedback, coaching, and training to employees.
  • Recognize growth, high performance, and development milestones through formal and informal recognition.
Equipment Inventory and Lifecycle Management (20%):
  • Maintain detailed records of equipment specifications, warranties, and maintenance history in the division's asset and ticket tracking system.
  • Provide reports and metrics regarding asset utilization, cost-effectiveness, and future requirements.
Customer consultation and Training (10%):
  • Provide basic training for tools/technologies offered at the university and used by customers.
