Itinerant Elementary Science Teacher

The teacher is the district's primary agent for instruction with responsibility for presenting the prescribed curriculum effectively and employing a diagnostic/prescriptive approach to identification and subsequent adaptation to the needs and interests of the students.

The duties commonly associated with the position include but are not limited to:

- maintaining up-to-date knowledge of curriculum content

- planning and assessment of instruction and curriculum

- maintaining classroom management

- planning and delivering effective instruction

- promoting high standards and expectations for student achievement

- communicating with students, parents, and other district employees to work on behalf of students

- promoting equity and appreciation of diversity

Job Requirements

*Elementary school assignment(s) to be decided

Bachelor's Degree required; Master's Degree preferred

MA DESE Certification in General Science 1-6

Experience with hands-on experiments, inquiry-based learning and integrating technology into the classroom

Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet the diverse needs of students and foster a love of science through interactive and dynamic instruction; proven ability to design and deliver engaging and effective science lessons that align with state standards

Ability to use data to plan for, assess, and modify instruction
