Itinerant Multilingual Learner (EL) Elementary Teacher

The teacher is the district's primary agent for instruction with responsibility for presenting the prescribed curriculum effectively and employing a diagnostic/prescriptive approach to identification and subsequent adaptation to the needs and interests of the students.

The duties commonly associated with the position include but are not limited to:

- maintaining up-to-date knowledge of curriculum content

- planning and assessment of instruction and curriculum

- maintaining classroom management

- planning and delivering effective instruction

- promoting high standards and expectations for student achievement

- communicating with students, parents, and other district employees to work on behalf of students

- promoting equity and appreciation of diversity

Job Requirements

Bachelor's Degree required; Master's Degree preferred

MA DESE Certification in English as a Second Language PreK-6

Experience implementing culturally responsive teaching methods to accommodate diverse backgrounds and languages among students; experience working with students in an urban setting preferred.

Demonstrated ability to differentiate instruction and create engaging, inclusive learning environments to support English language acquisition.

Ability to use data to plan for, assess, and modify instruction.
