Why does the job exist?
This position will reside at the New Mexico History Museum in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Under the supervision of the museum's Facilities Manager, this position will be responsible for devoting time in the Campus Operations custodial unit cleaning and disinfecting the Museum. This position will also be responsible to accurately account for museum cleaning supplies. This position will work with all staff at the museum to ensure the visitor has a seamless and enjoyable experience. The person in this position shall be willing to work with both external and internal customers to provide excellent customer service for the museum. How does it get done?
Responsible for performing custodial duties. Responsible for communication with community service workers (CSW's) regarding custodial work. Responsible for custodial support for special events.

Ideal Candidate
* Experience in providing custodial services to maintain a safe/sanitary environment
* Experience cleaning and sanitizing public restrooms
* Experience in using cleaning equipment
* Experience preparing requests to order supplies and equipment
Minimum Qualification
Eighth grade education.
Employment Requirements
Must possess and maintain a current Defensive Driving Course Certificate from the State of New Mexico or must pass and receive Defensive Driving Course Certification as a condition of continued employment. Must possess and maintain a valid New Mexico Driver's License.
Working Conditions
Continuous walking and standing; frequent lifting, pushing, pulling, bending/stooping, reaching below the knee, reaching above the shoulder level, climbing stairs, grasping, and manipulating with hands. Must be able to use a backpack vacuum daily, weighing 10-12 lbs. Must be able to lift/carry/push/pull 50 lbs. frequently.
