Java Architect

Cognizant is looking for a multifaceted Java architect with experience crafting and developing sophisticated software systems and applications. The individual will work with product owners, domain experts, and product managers to craft and deliver customer value. The role is encouraged to lead several software engineers in the delivery of custom cloud native applications. The individual in this role will ensure that standard methodologies are followed and that quality code is delivered. Lastly, Cognizant needs an individual that loves to collaborate with other technologists and enjoys mentoring and coaching.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

• Lead the design and development of sophisticated software solutions using Spring Boot Java and related technologies.

• Oversee the implementation of design patterns to ensure code quality and maintainability.

• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior developers on the team.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and analyze requirements ensuring alignment with business objectives.

• Develop and maintain high-quality code using JUnit5 for unit testing and GIT for version control.

• Ensure the use of YAML and XML for configuration management and data interchange.

• Utilize the Spring Framework to build scalable and efficient applications.

• Implement best practices for software development including continuous integration and deployment.

• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in a timely manner to minimize downtime.

• Conduct code reviews to ensure adherence to coding standards and best practices.

• Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies to drive innovation within the team.

• Work closely with stakeholders to understand their needs and provide technical solutions that meet their requirements.

• Ensure that all solutions are compliant with industry regulations and standards.

Key Qualifications:

• 10+ years of experience working with Java

• Possess a strong background in JUnit5, Design Patterns, YAML, Spring Boot, Java, JSON, GIT, XML, Spring Framework and Linux.

• Demonstrate extensive experience in the Payer domain.

• Exhibit excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically.

• Show strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members and stakeholders.

• Have a proven track record of delivering high-quality software solutions on time.

• Display a proactive approach to learning and adopting new technologies.

• Hold a Bachelors degree in Computer Science or a related field.

• Possess strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Location: Deerfield - IL or Remote

Salary and Other Compensation:

Applications will be accepted until 9/12/2024

The annual salary for this position is between $102,600 to 187,500 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position is also eligible for Cognizant's discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant's applicable plans.
