Apex Systems has an immediate opening available for a Java Developer with experience in building high-performing, scalable, enterprise-grade applications. This position will be a hybrid role out of Owings Mills, MD. You will be part of a talented software team that works on critical applications. You will be managing Java/Java EE application development while providing expertise in the full software development lifecycle, from concept and design to testing. Location: 2-3 days onsite in Owings Mills, MD
Duration:12+ month contract
Responsibilities:

• Working on enhancements and bug fixes for an existing software platform
• Taking requirements from technical leads and independently developing solutions
• Potentially some self-guided work where they need to understand stories and tasks on their own
• Collaborating with the team and technical leads as needed for guidance and code reviews
• Ensuring work is properly tested through unit testing
• Familiarity with technologies like Java, Spring Boot, AWS, and relational databases would be important

Requirements:

• 5+ years of experience in software development using Java and Spring Boot
• Experience with AWS and working with databases
• Strong understanding of REST APIs and unit testing practices
• Ability to work independently to understand requirements and develop solutions
• Ability to work in a hybrid setup, coming into the office 2 days a week
• Strong communication and collaboration skills to work with the local team
