May be required to perform phlebotomy at any or all network facilities. Phlebotomy performed is on any population of patients in a manner that demonstrates an understanding of the functional/developmental age of the individual served. May be required to travel between AEHN entities to perform job related tasks. Determines specimen collection required according to policy for ordered laboratory tests. Accesses computer/electronic databases as required for patient and test order information.
Responds to telephone requests for laboratory results. Processes specimens according to Central Processing procedure and policy with regards to receipt, priority triage, dispatch and retrieval. Performs basic computer systems functions as relates to specimen processing and inquiries. Prepares and performs all functions related to the proper handling of specimens which are sent to reference laboratories for testing. Performs training of new staff or students.

Qualifications

High school diploma/equivalent and Phlebotomy experience required. Phlebotomy certification preferred. Prior clinical experience in a medical setting preferred.

Conditions of Employment

Covid Vaccination is a requirement for employment at Jefferson for employees working at Jefferson's clinical entities or at the University.
