We are looking for an AR Specialist on a contract basis.

Responsibilities:
• Evaluate and process multiple types of billing categories for weekly invoicing; prepare and verify billing with accounts receivable ledger
• Analyze and research logistical documentation to ensure accurate billing
• Quote tariff rates to customers; keep abreast of tariff updates and ensure current billing system rates
• Review, reconcile, scan, and distribute invoice runs to customers
• Support Credit department with collections by researching, updating customer comments in the system and resolving dispute items
• Assist with the collections process, including ensuring customers are contacted regularly regarding outstanding receivables, and ensuring processes and procedures are followed
• Validate billing charges and process corrections against shipping manifests, ensuring proper credits are given to customers
• Perform billing data entry and compile and prepare data and reports
• Bill charges addressed in Port Houston's tariffs, including dockage, wharfage, water, storage, container billings, etc.
• Validate manifest summaries to ensure correct coding
• Establish strong relationships with Accounting and Operations teams
• Resolve customer billing concerns, issues, and/or questions
• Prepare monthly accruals, as required
• Maintain manual billing procedures
• Perform special projects as required
• Perform other duties as required

Requirements:
• Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or related major in a public or accredited private academic institution
• Experience with JDE and/or WorkDay
• General Ledger codes experience
• Billing experience
