TikTok Social team drives significant user engagement and retention wins through fun, innovative, and technically sophisticated products and features. We move fast, with precision, and consistently execute with privacy at the forefront.

Social team builds features across the whole app and throughout various user journeys, including Story for social creation, video like/comment for social interaction and friends/inbox/profile tabs for social content distribution and consumption. We seek talented individuals who enjoy the intersection of product, data, design, and engineering. As a Social team member, you'll help us improve the TikTok social experience and bring joy to hundreds of millions of users, every day.

As a Lead Architect on the Social team, you will:
- Collaborate with different teams across TikTok and oversee the program to build and foster necessary infrastructure components to improve the accessibility, scalability and performance of the social graph data platform that handles highly interconnected online and offline social data from over a billion TikTok users
- Research and design the best programming paradigm for engineers at full stack to manage and access social graph data in the most efficient way to improve development efficiency, engineering quality and resource efficiency

Qualifications

- Excellent programming skills in C++/Golang, debugging and optimization skills in general purpose programming languages
- 7+ years of professional experience in large-scale data infrastructure
- Critical thinking, strong opinion, yet open-minded
- Good cross-team communication skills and capable of driving forward projects with high org complexity
