Cognizant is a large IT consulting firm that leverages modern technologies to transform businesses on a global scale. The Lead Automotive Repair Technician will oversee hardware support operations at a regional level, supervising, guiding, and managing the activities and assignments of approximately 15 technicians, both onsite and remotely. This role is 100% onsite in Palo Alto, CA. Only local candidates will be considered.

Role Responsibilities
  • Oversee technical activities onsite, manage attendance and compliance with onsite regulations and processes
  • Ensure onsite technicians are fully trained and informed of their responsibilities, providing technical training and guidance as needed.
  • Review and approve hardware support troubleshooting and diagnosis.
  • Conduct technicians' performance reviews and develop performance improvement plans if necessary.
  • Foster a healthy working environment onsite
  • Review current technical processes for potential improvements
  • Manage special project requests from the client and propose / implement technical solutions,
  • Report on a regular basis the project progress, challenges, and achievements to the Global Lead and the Client.
  • Complete high complexity hardware repairs onsite and in the field if needed.

Desired Skills & Experience
  • Proficient in written/spoken English
  • 3-5 years of experience managing a group of technicians at a workshop or tech hub.
  • 3-5 years experience in hardware repairs and troubleshooting (vehicle parts, computer parts , camera parts, PCB etc.), installation.
  • High school or equivalent.
  • Technological savviness.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to operate and interact effectively with people at all levels of the business.
  • Comfortable with a rapidly-changing environment
  • Strong problem-solving skills and excellent attention to detail
  • Able to work independently, motivated, proactive attitude with a passion for learning and creative problem solving
  • Ability to travel - Valid passport or ability to obtain one within
  • Clear driving record (MVR) and ability to operate motor vehicles
  • Basic knowledge of Linux (preferred but not required)
  • Working knowledge of ticketing systems, Gmail, Google Calendar, Google Sheets

Salary and Other Compensation:
The annual salary for this position is between $71,400 - $ 78,300 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position is also eligible for Cognizant's discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant's applicable plans.
