Description:
We are seeking a Data Engineering Lead to be a key contributor in our Report Analytics & Data team. The Lead will play a critical role in developing and leading a Data Engineering & Analytics strategy as part of the overarching Analytics strategy to deliver robust Data Engineering solutions that drive key business decisions. The Lead works closely with Engineering Leadership and key stakeholders across the company to execute the strategic priorities of the company, in alignment with product and technology roadmaps.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and manage Data Engineers on agile software development teams, in partnership with product peers and Train Leadership and Agile partners.
Serve as technical system owner on assigned applications, services, and projects. Partner with other train leaders to ensure the health, security, and optimal functioning of these production systems.
Build trust with team, peers, and stakeholders. Foster an open, safe, and enjoyable environment that balances fun and learning with collaboration, productivity, and business value.
Plan, drive, and track results. Prepare or gather estimates, forecasts, backlog items, roadmaps, and execution and rollback plans. Monitor quality, defect metrics, and schedule.
Demonstrate Data Engineering knowledge and competency (including within technical, quality, and Agile SDLC domains). Participate in creating and implementing Data Engineering standards and guidelines for train and organization.
Promptly present issues, risks, and their business impact to management with proposed mitigation. Actively identify and remove impediments to team success regardless of where they originate.
Collaborate with strategic vendor partners to define, direct, and ensure delivery of contracted services
Inspire the train and teams to strive for innovation, efficiency, and continual improvement of team dynamics, processes, quality, and our engineering craft.
Qualifications and Skills:
Bachelorâs degree in computer science or a related discipline and 10 years of experience in Data Engineering, or a related field.
3+ yearsâ experience in Data Engineering management
Solid knowledge of data warehouse and build data marts for reporting and data sharing.
Solid knowledge of Data Engineering and experience with technologies Snowflake and cloud platforms such as AWS.
Strong Knowledge of SQL and Database Technologies also a plus
Experience working in MicroStrategy reporting platform is big plus.
Experience with ELT orchestration using Airflow!
Experience working in Agile environments with Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines and technology.
Ability to create clear goals and foster accountability/ownership.
Ability to see and communicate a broader vision while understanding the relevant technical details.
Ability to diagnose and creatively resolve problems, respectfully challenging conventional ways of working when necessary.
Highly self-motivated and customer-focused individual with effective communication and facilitation skills
Experience using Scrum, Scaled Agile Frame? work (SAFe), and Rally preferred.
Prior experience with vendor management and offshore delivery teams preferred.
