Job Description:
Please Note: This position is contingent upon an anticipated contract award to be determined at a later date.
Design and develop complex electrical systems for the integration of electronic equipment on military/commercial aircraft and ground stations. The design includes creating system wiring diagrams using the Capital Harness System tool as well as circuit breaker panels, control panels and other items using Computer Aided Design (CAD) tools. Engineer will be responsible for research, systems integration, preparation of engineering drawings, and coordination of design activities with Systems Engineering, Manufacturing, and Production to ensure that designs meet requirements at minimum cost. Engineer will also be responsible for leading and mentoring a team of 10+ entry level design engineers for the duration of an assigned project. Designs can include development of Avionics Systems, RF, LAN, Data Processing, Power Distribution Systems, Electrical Loads analysis, Load shedding scheme to name a few, along with the opportunity to support testing and integration of systems on the aircraft. In addition, engineer is expected to support new program pursuits, engineer bids and trade studies. Electrical design engineers have the opportunity to work on a wide variety of tasks and aircraft systems on various aircraft platforms.

Bachelor's Degree and minimum 9 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 7 years of prior related experience. Degree in Electrical Engineering or related technical field is strongly desired. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 13 years of prior related experience.

Essential Functions:
- Responsible for providing guidance, coaching, and training to other employees.
- Oversee the design of detail parts, assemblies, and installations for aircraft structures, mission equipment installations, and mechanical systems installations.
- Ensure proposals are vetted for accuracy in cost, scope, and schedule.
- Ensure programs are accomplished on schedule and within budget while complying with process/procedures and program requirements.
- Provides input into new products, processes, standards and/or operational plans that will have measurable impact on the achievement of overall function or business results.
- Lead a team of electrical design engineers to implement electronic subsystems by breaking down work packages, providing drawing status, and budget estimates to platform leads.
- Ensure program airworthiness, customer, and company requirements are understood and met.
- Capable of influencing a wide range of audience and having communication skills to win support without little reporting structure.
Job Qualification Requirements:

- Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance which requires U.S. Citizenship is required.
- Experience in aircraft design relating to electrical engineering is required.
- Advanced knowledge and skills using ECAD tools.
- Good computer skills including working knowledge of Microsoft Office is required.
- Capable of managing and working in an environment that is fast paced, demanding, with a focus on problem resolution and process improvement.
- Must be able to walk to and from the flight line, work in aircraft hangar environment and board/exit aircraft is required.
- Must be willing to travel as necessary to support the program.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Advanced aircraft design related experience in defense aerospace industry
- Previous leadership experience with design and implementation teams
- Familiarity with FAA (Part 23 and 25) and military aircraft airworthiness design approach, certification process, and requirements
- Knowledge of manpower planning, milestone scheduling, and related financial management
- Formulate strategic vision, define implementation plan of action to achieve success.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Good computer skills including working knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Experience in electrical design using Siemens NX or Capital
- Systems integration experience
- Task Lead or Product Lead experience especially on large prototype programs
- An active DoD Secret clearance or higher
