Lead Field Technician - Job Description

Experience and Skills:
  • IT Infrastructure Field Support:
    • Minimum of five (5+) years' experience required.
    • Includes troubleshooting hardware, software, and operating system issues without impacting hardware warranty or customer security compliance requirements.
  • Hardware Proficiency:
    • Hands-on experience in installing, troubleshooting, and fixing desktops, printers, laptops, and other computer peripherals.
    • Ability to lift/move computer equipment weighing up to 50Lbs.
  • Technical Knowledge:
    • Basic knowledge of enterprise LAN and WAN setups and concepts.
    • Ability to perform smart hand activities under instruction-based activities at sites.
    • Skilled in desk side support and PC break/fix, including basic administration of Windows O/S.
  • Certification and Education:
    • Associates Degree in Electronics and CompTIA A+ Certification preferred.
    • If unable to meet education requirements, technicians must meet the Subcontractor's own internal required standard.
    • A Client-specific technician certification program will be introduced during the transition.
  • Software and Networking:
    • Experience with Anti-spyware and Anti-virus software.
    • Some usage knowledge of TCP/IP networking, DNS, DHCP, VPN, and RDP.
  • Support Capabilities:
    • Smart hand support for peripheral and networking hardware, including but not limited to monitors, keyboards, mice, printers, scanners, routers, switches, firewalls, racks, cabinets, and multi-port data termination panels.
    • Ability to troubleshoot issues with systems and networks using deductive reasoning skills under 'Smart Hands' capability.
Communication and Management Skills:
  • Communication:
    • Excellent written and oral communications skills with clients and management.
    • Good people skills.
  • Task Management:
    • Ability to work with deadlines and complete tasks on-time.
    • May provide limited work direction and support to Level I technicians.
