Responsibilities:
The Lead Housekeeper (Nights) performs general custodial services as directed within the campus. Serves as the supervisor when required, including during dedicated shifts and during the supervisor's absence. Leads a team of housekeepers in the absence of the supervisor and reviews and inspects work and reports any issues to the supervisor.

Responsibilities:
The Lead Housekeeper (Nights) performs general custodial services as directed within the campus. Serves as the supervisor when required, including during dedicated shifts and during the supervisor's absence. Leads a team of housekeepers in the absence of the supervisor and reviews and inspects work and reports any issues to the supervisor.
- Cleans common areas, classrooms, hallways, and stairwells, moves and spot clean furniture, shampoos carpets, strips, waxes and buff floors;
- Cleans offices and classrooms to include desks, dusting, window ledges, window glass, furniture, doors, vacuuming, white boards and emptying trash;
- Cleans and restocks bathrooms, removes trash (daily),
- Reports all matters of safety to the appropriate supervisor;
- Communicates to supervisor the need for additional cleaning supplies to maintain the appropriate level in respective housekeeping closets;
- Establishes and maintains a positive and operative working relationship with members of the department and the campus community;
- Effectively performs in a service environment;
- Follows all State, University and departmental policies, procedures and practices;
- Performs all duties listed with minimal supervision, and with a high level of quality. Work performed should be completed within acceptable timeframe. If inspected after work is completed, there should be no complaints about the work performed;
- All reports to supervisor should be complete, within appropriate timeframe to maintain safety of staff and students and for the successful completion of all duties; and
- May be required to work additional hours in the event of an emergency. This may require reporting to work early, staying late, and/or working weekends. Employee is also designated as "Essential Personnel." All essential personnel employees are required to report for snow removal or other emergency when assigned. Complies with the policy pursuant to the designated title of "Essential Personnel"; and
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- Related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities can be acquired;
- Knowledge of cleaning terms and safety procedures related to hazardous cleaning chemicals;
- Ability to read, understand and abide by all safety policies and procedures;
- Ability to read and follow cleaning instructions and schedules;
- Ability to practice effective oral communication skills with students, faculty and staff;
- Ability to work independently, without close supervision; and
- Ability to remain calm during stress periods.
- High school diploma or equivalent; and
- Experience in use of mechanical cleaning equipment.
