Job Description:

The Medical Assistant II will work under the direction of licensed medical professionals and performs a variety of clerical and patient care duties to assist practitioners and other members of health care team.

Provides appropriate care to patients and their families in a compassionate and professional manner, within the Medical Assistant (MA) scope of practice

Administer vaccines, take vitals, room patients, register/schedule patients, cover Front Office if needed, update medical charts, clean/sanitize rooms, stock supplies, train new employees, run productivity audits for the team, manage vaccine inventory and ordering for VFC and Private stock, roll out new procedures to the MA team, work with Nurse to ensure staff annual TB requirements and N95 fit testing requirements are completed, etc

Assists the patients care team in implementing the medical plan of care

At least one year Pediatrics experience preferred, or family clinic but not deal breaker. Leadership role for at least a year.

Job Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED certificate

Current CPR Certification preferred.

Completed an accredited Medical Assistant program.

Requires a minimum 1 year of experience in an ambulatory care environment as a Medical Assistant.

Proficiency with an electronic medical records (EMR) system (preferably Epic).

Demonstrated ability to room patients, take and accurately document vital signs, administer injections, and maintain medical records.

Optimum team player must be able to multi-task and consistently practice positive patient relations and customer service.
