What you'll do :
  • Lays out, positions, aligns and fits together fabricated parts of metal according to layouts, work orders, blueprints, schematics and sketches in preparation for welding.
  • Tack-welds pieces together.
  • Applies appropriate welding processes to join, surface, fabricate and repair parts of metal or other weldable materials according to layouts, work orders, blueprints, schematics and sketches using manual, automatic welding and/or semi-automatic welding equipment.
  • May lay out and mark weld points on parts or sub-assemblies.
  • May position pieces to be welded into jigs, holding fixtures, guides and steps using measuring instruments and hand tools.
  • May inspect completed work for conformance to specifications.
  • Observes all standard safety practices, maintains, and completes all required records.
  • Follows all safety committees or initiatives.
  • May be involved in safety committees or initiatives.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


Qualifications
What you'll need:
  • 1 - 2 years of related experience
  • Switch Crew/Track Mobile experience
  • Hand wells in all positions groove and fillet.
  • Performs repairs to subassemblies for final product.
  • Performs oxy-fuel welding.
  • Performs carbon arc welding.
  • Conducts one or two NDE tests
  • Performs as Level 3 Fitter/Welder
  • Welds to stainless and carbon steel may repair aluminum
  • Performs TIG welding (stainless & aluminum)
  • Past experience working with Track mobile/Switch Crew
  • Leads team by assigning tasks.
  • Assist in completion of all tasks to meet deadlines
  • Maintains and improve quality
  • Trains lower levels.
