Under the direction of the Deputy Chief Legal Support Personnel Officer and Senior Corporate Paralegal Manager, the Legal Support Personnel Coordinator works independently on numerous Paralegal projects including new hire activities, assisting with the evaluation process, and all administrative responsibilities regarding the Paralegal program. The Legal Support Personnel Coordinator will provide additional administrative support to the paralegal group and other members of the Legal Support Personnel team. This individual will also report to the Director of Legal Project Management for Legal Personnel Management duties.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist with administrative aspects related to Paralegal recruiting and onboarding and orientation under the direction of the department Assistant Manager.
  • Ensuring timely payment of corporate invoices.
  • Schedules interviews, distributes orientation materials, completes, and compiles new hire paperwork and creates personnel files for Paralegals.
  • Enters out of office time into diaries as needed.
  • Assists in the completion of Bar Affidavits for all former Paralegals, SEOs & Interns.
  • Assists in evaluation process-schedules meetings, distribute evaluation summaries.
  • Maintains Paralegal personnel files.
  • Answers phones for senior members of the department.
  • Handles general department inquiries.
  • Provide assistance with tax notices.
  • Provide general Legal Support Personnel admin support including submission of department T&Es and other reports.
  • Acts as back up to other Legal Support Personnel administrative staff.
  • Participate in the development and maintenance of Legal Project Management (LPM) initiatives including:

o Coordinating the onboarding process for attorneys joining new matters.

o Taking minutes at cross-department meetings and summarizing same.

o Procuring key data points needed to prepare cost projections (potentially working on cost projections solo).

o Assisting with database creation and maintenance for the LPM group.

o Maintain and expand the LPM Resource Center.

o Help develop LPM initiatives while learning the LPM process.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree;
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office;
  • 3-5 years related work experience in a legal support or paralegal capacity, preferably in a legal or professional services environment;
  • Availability to work overtime on certain occasions is necessary;
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills;
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills;
  • Highly developed organizational abilities and meticulous attention to detail; and
  • Ability to prioritize and to work under pressure, including overtime, in a deadline-driven environment.

Salary:
  • $75,000 - $85,000. Paul, Weiss offers competitive compensation and benefits packages.
