Summary
Integrative Systems + Design (ISD) seeks applicants for a Lecturer I position beginning in Fall Term 2024 and continuing through Winter Term 2025. This is a non-tenure-track, part-time position. This position involves teaching a two-course Design Science seminar series over two terms. The instructor leads discussions and coordinates presentations on topics related to Design Science from doctoral candidates, U-M faculty, and external guests. The course aim is to aid students in identifying research opportunities, formulating appropriate dissertation topics, and building a community supporting interdisciplinary research. For this Fall 2024and Winter 2025 position, the percentage of effort will be 15% per term.

Responsibilities*
- Intermittently teach assigned ISD courses, starting in Fall 2024 with the Design Science Colloquium (DESCI 790) and in Winter 2025 with the Design Science Seminar (DESCI 791)
- Evaluate, grade, and provide timely feedback on student work and projects
- Hold regular office hours, virtually and in-person
Required Qualifications*
- Relevant advanced degree, experience, and/or acknowledgment as an expert in the field of design science
- Extensive experience and knowledge of aspects of design science, including human-centered design, innovation, design thinking, integrative systems, business models, etc.
- Relevant, high quality teaching experience with exemplary participant evaluations, and/or the equivalent of teaching/training roles in industry, etc.
- Must be capable of working independently and making effective presentations
- Ability to interact effectively, respectfully, and diplomatically with individuals of all backgrounds and at all organizational levels, and to apply best practices in fostering diversity, equity, and inclusion principles.
