Dynetics is engaged with NASA delivering critical flight hardware for Human Space Exploration in many areas not least of which is in direct contact with crew: Environmental Control and Life Support Systems (ECLSS).

Primary Responsibilities

The Laser Air Monitoring System (LAMS) Test Engineer will have a key impact on the design, certification, and deliver of Dynetics' flight hardware and will:
Provide daily insight to and oversight of the manufacturing, qualification and acceptance of cabin/suit air monitoring systems with an extremely high level of attention to detail.
Aid in hardware manufacturing and assembly in a lab and cleanroom environment.
Aid in developing and updating work instructions for small electro/optical/mechanical assemblies and processes.
Engage teammates at all levels including management, QA, and skilled trades with a positive, collaborative attitude.
Participate in design/test/certification reviews and provide specific comments to documentation (interfaces, test & verification requirements, analysis or test results, and acceptable verification closure data)
Preparation and/or review of variances, exceptions and/or waivers to NASA requirements

Basic Qualifications
BS degree from an accredited engineering school and a minimum of 2-4 years of direct engineering experience or a Masters Degree with less than 2 years of prior relevant experience.
Strong verbal and written communication skills, be able to work in a team, and develop cooperative relationships
Experience with manufacturing and hardware assembly or personal interest in fixing cars/mechanical-minded, building and experimenting
Mechanical system design experience including familiarity with design, manufacturing and assembly processes
Ability to track multiple tasks and prioritize work independently
Self-motivation and quick learner to adapt to the broad array of subjects and issues encountered
Ability to work in a cleanroom environment
Work on site in Huntsville, Alabama

Preferred Qualifications
Be familiar with the details of NASA ECLSS requirements as needed.
Experience working with and handling optical components is a plus
Experience with small components and high accuracy components is a plus
A working knowledge and experience with Commercial Crew design and verification documentation and requirements
Working knowledge of NASA, ISS standards, practices and requirements including safety, fault tolerance, FMEAs and unique disciplines (i.e. mechanisms, Structures, Materials, etc.)
Experience with using CAD tools to open and manipulate CAD models or STP files in Creo
Experience with Solumina or similar software to develop Work Instructions and/or Manufacturing Orders

Pay Range: Pay Range $65,000.00 - $117,500.00
