Software Test Engineer

Description

SAIC is seeking a skilled Software Test Engineer to join our innovative team. In this hybrid role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and executing test plans and test cases to ensure the quality and reliability of our software products. You will work closely with developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to deliver high-quality solutions to our customers.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and execute comprehensive test plans and test cases using Azure DevOps (ADO)
• Perform manual and automated testing of software applications
• Utilize ADO for test case management, bug tracking, and reporting
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve issues and improve product quality
• Participate in code reviews and provide feedback to development teams
• Maintain test environments and test data within ADO
• Stay current with industry best practices and testing methodologies
• Edit/format technical reports, operational testing, and performance evaluation documents for language and technical content issues and prepare for publication
• Address completeness and accuracy of technical information and ensure content reads logically at the proper level of complexity for intended audience
• Support the planning, execution, and completion of all field operation preforming evaluations by assisting the requirements definition, attending planning, meeting, and coordinating the test activities of the various site mission areas
• Conduct exercise evaluations and execution of test against operation systems to include end-to-end assessment of national systems and deliver after-action reports and final technical reports
• Possesses excellent oral and written communication skills and strong interpersonal skills
• Develop highly technical plans (Word) and scripts (Excel) for each test activity and coordinate with test customers and test range facilities to ensure test resources are available and test requirements are met

Qualifications

Education Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field five (5) years of experience in software testing and quality assurance; Additional six (6) years' experience can be considered in lieu of degree (per contract vehicle).

Clearance Requirements:

• Must possess a Secret security clearance or an Interim Secret clearance prior to start date; US Citizenship required.

Required Experience/Skills:

• Strong knowledge of software testing methodologies and tools
• Proficiency in Azure DevOps for test management and execution
• Experience with automated testing frameworks and scripting languages
• Proficiency in MagicDraw and SysML/UML modeling
• Familiarity with Agile development methodologies
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities
• Ability to work in a hybrid environment, with occasional on-site presence required

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps
• Knowledge of cloud computing platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
• ISTQB or other relevant certifications
