Position Summary
Upholds the Core Values of Respect, Integrity and Service. The primary responsibility for all positions with Hawkins Ace Hardware is to Amaze Every Customer Every Time.
MUST HAVE RELIABLE TRANSPORTATION AND A CURRENT VALID DRIVER'S LICENSE.
Loader associates work in a fast-paced and physically demanding environment where the primary responsibilities are customer service, carrying and/or loading light weight to heavy items for customers, as well as to maintain the cleanliness and safety of the store and grounds.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
•
Safely load and unload customer purchases in an efficient manner and in the customer's
best interest. Often requires manipulation of heavy or bulking items.
•
Daily maintenance of the restrooms, breakroom and storeroom. Ensuring cleanliness, organization and safety.
replace toilet paper and paper towels as needed.
• Daily trash removal throughout the store.
• Daily floor maintenance.
• Assist in the delivery truck process which includes unloading merchandise, keep boxes broken down and in the
dumpster and when needed to put away merchandise.
•
Maintain cleanliness and safety of the store grounds. Knowledge and ability to use equipment such as mowers,
blowers, weed-eaters, pruners or saws will be required.
•
Communicates with customers via phone to schedule deliveries and delivers the merchandise with care.
•
May use the Ace delivery smartphone application to facilitate the delivery process.
•
Communicate with the store management as needed and follow instructions as required including but not l
limited to: change in route, special requests and/or equipment problems.
•
Maintain knowledge of geography and demographics of assigned area as well as contact persons at each store
location.
•
Operate a box van, pickup truck or other assigned vehicle in a safe and courteous manner while observing all
state and local driving laws as well as company policies and procedures.
•
Input or retrieve data from computer as needed.
• Demonstrate excellent customer service to our customers, and co-workers.

Ability to work additional or flexible hours including weekends as requested or required.

Must participate in safety seminars including annual driver safety training, etc.
•
Good verbal and written communication skills.
•
Ability to prioritize and multitask.
•
Must possess basic computer knowledge skills.
•
Safely navigate driving conditions in adverse weather, and navigate the assigned driving area in an efficient
manner for package delivery
•
Work independently as well as a team member.
•
Possess a valid in-state driver license with an acceptable driving record in accordance with company's insurance carrier's standards
