Primary Responsibilities:

  • Monitors the daily operations of the department including all workflows, turnaround times, production levels, and staffing needs within budgetary and business planning guidelines
  • Prepare, analyze, and monitor all Billing issues within tracking system to ensure all are completed within turnaround time established
  • Effectively and professionally communicate results, challenges and solutions through daily interaction and regular reports with management
  • Responds timely and effectively to requests from other departments as they relate to the functions of the Eligibility department
  • Manage and train staff of 15
  • Creates, analyzes, ad hoc reports to ensure all Billing is accounted for, and paid according to customer contracts. Partners with finance to understand variances, and fluctuations in revenue received
  • Applies knowledge/skills to complex activities
  • Demonstrates a depth and breadth of knowledge/skills in own area and is often able to apply these outside of own function
  • Often acts as a technical resource to others in own function
  • Anticipates customer needs and proactively identifies solutions
  • Solves complex problems on own; proactively identifies new solutions to problems
  • Plans, prioritizes, organizes, and completes work to meet established objectives
  • Acts as a facilitator to resolve conflicts on team; seen as key team member on project teams spanning more than own function

Required Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of billing or accounting experience
  • 3+ years of experience working in an accounting department performing tasks such as: performing reconciliations, processing receivables
  • 3+ years of experience displaying solid analytical and problem-solving skills
  • 3+ years of people leadership/management experience
  • Ability to demonstrate solid proficiency in MS Suite and other systems

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Background working with Oracle/ORMB/BRMS
  • Solid organizational background
  • Background in a Billing/Accounts Receivable Department

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
