Position Summary:

Maintains electrical systems, apparatus, and electrical and electronic components of industrial machinery and equipment, with minimal supervision , by performing the following duties.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Diagnoses malfunctioning apparatus such as transformers, motors, and lighting fixtures and replaces damaged or broken wires and cables.
  • Tests malfunctioning machinery and discusses malfunction with other maintenance workers to diagnose malfunction and make required repairs.
  • Replaces faulty electrical components of machines such as relays, switches, and motors, and positions sensing devices.
  • Diagnoses and repairs or replaces faulty electronic components, such as printed circuit boards.
  • Troubleshoot and maintain control systems. This includes all electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic controls.
  • Troubleshoot and repair all AC and DC motors and controls, pressure sensing devices, voltage current, and resistance measurement devices.
  • Installation, Troubleshoot, and repair plant lighting 480V, 207V and 110V circuits; 480V cranes; PLC based controls and relay logic circuits.
  • Monitor furnace status and light furnaces.
  • VFD's and motor control; installation and troubleshooting
  • Monitor furnace status and light furnaces. Troubleshoots machine issues.
  • Monitors furnace temperature uniformity surveys at direction of furnace survey team and maintenance supervision
  • Assists with routine pyrometry work (i.e. thermocouple changes)
  • Performs preventative maintenance tasks on equipment

Required Skills:
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of employees of Company.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Experience & Education
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • At least 8 years of hands-on maintenance, troubleshooting and repair experience on a variety of machine tool types and brands, both modern and legacy.
  • Electrician certification required.
  • Understanding of both manual and CNC equipment work and how to repair them.
  • A strong knowledge of electrical, electronic, pneumatic and hydraulic theory and application is a must as is work-class mechanical skills.

For informational purposes only, this role is eligible to participate in the Company's Quarterly Cash Bonus Plan, paid out at the quarterly bonus factor of 1X the Company's bonus multiple, based on the Company's performance in the applicable quarter . Employees will receive 80 hours paid time off every year. Employees will also receive 10 paid holidays.
