Responsibilities

This role typically:

• Performs a variety of work to maintain all buildings on campus such as pressure washing, painting, inspecting buildings/equipment to ensure good and safe operating conditions.
• Troubleshoots, repairs, and replaces mechanical and plumbing systems/devices.
• Generates, responds, and updates work order system once per day regarding progress and/or upon completion of assignments.
• Performs routine servicing of mechanical and plumbing systems as part of the preventative maintenance program.

As needed this role:

• Assists with emergency and or special Facilities maintenance projects.
• Remains on-call during designated periods outside normal working hours.
  • While on-call, the candidate may be required to return to the work site to respond to maintenance emergencies.
• Provides basic support to staff Telecommunications Specialist with installation and telecommunication devices repair.
• Performs other duties and assists with special events as assigned.

Qualifications

Skills

• Relevant knowledge or skills such as:
  • Carpentry
  • Commercial painting
  • Commercial plumbing
  • Basic electrical
  • HVAC
  • or other related trades work.
• Ability to lift/carry up to 50 pounds, climb ladders/use lifts, walk significant distances and work in small spaces.
• Teamwork and communication skills.

Education

• Two years of relevant experience or a combination of post high school education and experience equal to two years.
  • (Note: A technical or vocational degree can substitute for experience at the equivalent rate.)
• HS diploma or GED

If hired, candidate must obtain a lift certification within year of hire and be physically able and willing to operate an aerial lift, forklift, etc. All training would be provided by The Ringling.

Considerations

Rate of Pay: $32,920 - $40,000 + based on the education, skills, and experience of the selected candidate. Find out more about our comprehensive benefits and leave package under the "FSU Total Rewards" section.

Working Hours: 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM Monday - Friday with a half-hour meal period. Please note, the incumbent may be required to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, or holidays based on the needs of The Ringling.
