The selected candidate will be compensated at a rate of $24.63 per hour (non-negotiable).

Why does the job exist?

Performs basic maintenance and repair duties under the direct instruction, mentoring and supervision of an advanced level maintenance and repair worker and the maintenance and repair supervisor.

How does it get done?

This position will assist in providing critical basic building maintenance for the GSD/FMD owned and managed campuses throughout the City and County of Santa Fe.

Including:
- Performing daily maintenance rounds in assigned campuses.
- Complete assigned daily maintenance work orders, via the AIM FMD's electronic work order system.
- Assist in keeping inventory of common maintenance materials.
- Repair plaster, dry wall, paint, roofs, windows, doors, floors, woodwork, etc.
- Repair and maintain machines and mechanical equipment.

Who are the customers?

State of New Mexico Departments and Agencies and State of New Mexico staff, building occupants, customers, and the public.

Ideal Candidate

- Minimum of one (1) year experience in construction, building maintenance and/or ground maintenance.
- Working knowledge of basic carpentry.
- Experience using Computer-Aided-Work Order Systems.

Minimum Qualification

High School Diploma or Equivalent and three (3) months of experience in general buildings and grounds maintenance, custodial duties, construction, plumbing, electrical and/or appliance repair. Substitutions Apply. See Substitution Table below.

Employment Requirements

Must possess & maintain a current & valid New Mexico driver's license. Must possess and maintain a current Defensive Driving Course Certificate from the State of New Mexico or must pass and receive Defensive Driving Course Certification as a condition of continued employment.

Working Conditions

A fast paced indoor and outdoor setting with inclement weather of either cold or hot. Strict maintenance management schedules. Lifting, pulling, climbing ladders, walking up and down stairways, bending and standing for prolonged periods, must be able to lift 25 lbs. Will be on periodic ¿on call¿ for emergencies including weekdays, weekends and/or holidays. Must interact well with customer agencies, FMD staff, and building professionals. This position is on the snow-removal team, and should be expected to be available, as needed.
