The Phoenix Convention Center Department is seeking a dynamic Maintenance Superintendent, to oversee the facility maintenance section, which is comprised of multiple work groups to ensure the Phoenix Convention Center, Symphony Hall, Orpheum Theatre, and associated garages are properly maintained, building code compliant and ready to host event activities such as conventions, luncheons, meetings, conferences, theatrical performances, and trade and consumer shows. The Maintenance Superintendent will supervise a large workgroup that is responsible for the maintenance, repair, alteration and remodeling of the Phoenix Convention Center, Symphony Hall, Orpheum Theater, and associated garages.

The Maintenance Superintendent at the Phoenix Convention Center will oversee the operations of the building systems and infrastructure, budget and planning for the capital improvement projects, operational support services, manage several service contracts and supervises multiple trade groups. The Maintenance Superintendent will be responsible for the oversight of building trade activities such as preventative maintenance, carpentry, painting, plastering, plumbing, electrical, lighting controls, HVAC, operable wall systems, roofing systems, landscaping and other critical infrastructure for all facilities that are under the prevue of the Phoenix Convention Center Department.

SALARY

Pay Range: $90,916.80 - 134,326.40 annually.

Hiring Range: $90,916.80 - $105,248.00 annually.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Three years of experience in building maintenance and repair work, with skilled level experience in one or more of the building trades.
  • Including one year of supervisory experience supplemented with college level courses in engineering or a related field.
  • Other combinations of experience and education that meet the minimum requirements may be substituted.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

The minimum qualifications listed above, plus:
  • Five or more years of professional level experience working in large facilities related to venue / campus administration, building maintenance, engineering services and capital projects.
  • Five or more years of experience directly supervising multiple building trades and large work groups.
  • Five or more years of experience managing annual operating budgets and capital improvements that exceed multi-million-dollar projects.
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction administration, project management or related field.
