The Maintenance Technician 3 - 2nd shift will maintain and install equipment, facilities, and utility systems. In addition, provide leadership, expertise, and training to other department members. Job duties include:2nd Shift: Monday - Friday, 2:30pm - 11:00pmMust be available for weekend and holiday on-call and after-hours dutyMust be able to work independently on a variety of shifts and participation in the call-in programAvailable for work related travel and must have a valid driver's license for work related travelOccasional travel and valid driver's licenseResponsible for independently completing assigned work orders (P.M. tasks)Corrective and Preventive Maintenance of equipment, facilities, and other utility systemsSuccessful completion of required training curriculumShows dignity, respect while performing duties and contributes to department goalsIdentifies unsafe work conditions, reports and follow all safety rules and regulationsExcellent organizational skills and 5S skills and follows good documentation practicesUtilizes the Management of Change Process and Non-Conformance Report for changes.Read, write clear, understand, and follow work instructions, procedures, and drawings/schematicsTroubleshoot, maintain, install and repair electrical/HVAC/mechanical related problems, instrumentation, equipment, and/or systemsAssist with process improvement, miscellaneous duties and other tasks as assignedOperate hand tools, power tools, basic shop tools (grinder, drill press, sand blaster, band saw, etc.), and forklift/man lift.Utilize hoists, rigging equipment, troubleshoot and repair packaging equipment.Utilize precision measuring, electrical testing, calibration, and recovery equipmentUtilizes the Management of Change Process and Non-Conformance Report for changes.Reference NEC code book and NFPA, thorough and meticulous update files and paperworkRead gauges, understand units of measure, and identify parts needed for a repair.Perform boiler water, cooling tower chemistry tests, preventive and corrective maintenance on boilers.Guide and direct contractors and other technicians in completing workUse precision measuring equipment, understand materials of construction and chemical compatibilityLeadership ability to assist with directing contractors and other technicians in completing work.Ability to make decisions and resolve problems through analyzing alternative, evaluating risks, etc.Participate with department audits and work with engineering departmentExemplary attendance and adherence to schedule Physical Attributes:Occasionally lift 50 pounds unassisted and additional weight with assistanceWalk long distances and be able to stay on your feet for eight hoursRegularly sit, stand, walk, reach above the shoulder, stoop, kneel, twist, crouch, or crawl for long periods of timeUse hands and feet to operate equipmentRegularly works near moving mechanical parts, outdoor weather conditions, and sources of electrical shock, vibrations, fumes, and airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals for which protective equipment and procedures must be used. Workplace noise level is loud, occasionally very loud.Occasionally wear hard hat, safety shoes, eye protection, hearing protection, protective gloves, respirator, and face shieldClose vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth vision, and the ability to adjust focus needed Who You AreMinimum Qualifications:High School Diploma or GEDValid driver's license3 + years of experience in HVAC, electrical/instrumentation, and/or mechanical (i.e., Boiler Operator's) Preferred Qualifications:5 + years of experience in HVAC, electrical/instrumentation, and/or mechanical (i.e., Boiler Operator's)Excellent leadership, teamwork, and interpersonal skillsStrong oral and written communication skillsSelf-motivation and high efficiency skillsFollows good documentation practicesKnowledgeable in the testing, operation, and repair of fire protection systems.Proficiency with computers and experience with MS office and SAPRSREMD
