Summary

The Section of General Internal Medicine is seeking an experienced Clinical Operations Manager to manage the overall operations for the Baylor Medicine Hospitalist Services at CHI St. Luke's Health. The inpatient programs comprise of over 100 faculty serving at 4 hospitals in the greater Houston region. As the Manager, you will be responsible for clinical operations and building an environment to drive progress and achieve goals in the areas such as quality improvement, financial performance, regulatory compliance, physician satisfaction, and other initiatives. The ideal candidate can independently identify and solve day-to-day operational challenges across the program.

The ideal candidate will have experience with financial management, clinical operations in a hospital setting, and knowledge of scheduling platforms (QGenda), electronic health records (EPIC), and other key software platforms. Will have strong leadership skills and ability to gain the confidence of faculty, staff, leaders, colleagues, etc. Will have the ability to display a professional, positive attitude with strong interpersonal skills and communication skills required and must be able to work independently and collaboratively to meet deadlines. Additionally, be highly detail-oriented, self-motivated, efficient, and strong organizational skills and demonstrate a high degree of flexibility in accepting work assignments with the ability to effectively prioritize tasks, understand processes, and resolve issues.

Job Duties

  • Oversees the daily clinical operations of the Hospital Medicine Program together with physician leadership and section administration to ensure optimal clinical performance and care delivery.
  • Manages the clinical roster to ensure effective utilization against approved staffing plans.
  • Analyzes program data together with program leadership to continually enhance performance and positively effecting clinical outcomes and patient satisfaction.- Monitors budgets and financial data related to the program including revenue optimization and expense management.
  • Leads quality improvement projects and initiatives including managing the quarterly quality metrics incentives and identifying opportunities for quality improvement.
  • Drives patient satisfaction initiatives in collaboration with hospital and program leadership to achieve hospital based patient satisfaction initiatives.
  • Implements communication strategies and promote effective communication dialogue with providers and staff through regularly scheduled staff meetings and other means of communication.
  • Responsibles for physician scheduling and schedule management using QGenda.
  • Manages, processes, and approves supplemental pay requests, reimbursements, supply requests, and other program expenses.
  • Identifies opportunities for business and clinical process improvement and manages process improvement projects.
  • Assists with program development, network integrity, referral capture, and marketing initiatives required for successful growth of the program.
  • Manages the human resources activities for the program in partnership with the Section's HR Coordinator and Director.
  • Develops plans for improving utilization of resources and maintaining practice efficiency while seeking to minimize operational costs.
  • Other job duties as assigned.


Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • Four years of relevant experience.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Financial management and clinical operations in a hospital setting experience.
  • EPIC experience.
  • QGenda experience.
