MANAGER, CREDIT SERVICES

RESPONSIBILITIES

This position is responsible for the development and execution of micro level risk management strategies relative to the credit exposure posed by Workforce Optimization (WO) clients as identified through analysis of business and financial operations of client. Risks must be understood and communicated, and credit exposures balanced with the Company’s acceptable risk levels. Decision-making is very extensive, guided by policy and objective, with significant influence on customer service, client retention and internal Company financial metrics.

• Provides leadership in support of managing Insperity’s payroll-related credit risk mitigation strategies. Such support includes the analysis of financial information on both new and existing customers to limit the risk of bad debt loss while maximizing business opportunity for Insperity.

• Manages Insperity’s base of Emerging Growth, Core and MidMarket WO accounts for which current credit evaluations and financial risk assessments must be maintained in accordance with stated policy.

• Supervises extension of credit function. Ensures adherence with company credit/default policy including periodic revision or update of the policy. Oversees follow-up on extensions of credit, NSFs and unreported payrolls to outside collection as necessary. Oversees termination process resulting from financial default.

• Independently conducts analysis of client financial statements to determine ongoing customer creditworthiness and degree of risk involved in extending unsecured payment terms to existing clients. Compares client financial results to those budgeted and/or forecasted.

• Develops and implements comprehensive solutions to complex problems uncovered by both routine financial analysis and information obtained from third party and internal sources, ensuring that all parties continue to derive value from the business relationship.

• Negotiates directly with client senior management to explore and execute the best risk-mitigating course(s) of action necessitated by the findings of ongoing credit reviews.

• Researches and monitors financial/business markets as well as national and global economic data to identify trends and downturns in client-specific industries to position Insperity to take proactive steps to mitigate client-related financial exposure. Alerts Credit Services senior leadership and makes recommendations for proactive changes to credit terms if deemed necessary.

• Exercises authority to terminate a client relationship for financial default after independently establishing conditions that warrant such action. Determines whether reinstatement is permitted and devises conditions under which the reinstatement may occur in consultation with Credit Services senior leadership, as appropriate.

• Cultivates strategic relationships with Payroll, Client Services, Sales, COEs, and Legal to maximize credit exposure management and client retention opportunities. Regularly performs credit risk management presentations for various Corporate and Field personnel, and maintains an intricate understanding of Company’s business model, including the internal guidelines, policies, and workflow methods employed by field service personnel and other internal constituents.

• Works closely with and provides guidance to field service management to diffuse potentially volatile scenarios involving at-risk clients.

• Contributes to the success of Insperity Service Operations and Sales through ongoing analysis, where applicable, of existing or potential customers’ creditworthiness.

• Assists other Business Units in collection of past due accounts and creditworthiness status of terminated WO clients that become/remain Traditional Employment clients.

• Supervises Supervisor, Credit Services personnel in their daily tasks, addressing client default issues that require escalation while focusing on necessary financial analysis and daily client financial challenge resolution.

• Provides employees with timely, candid, and constructive feedback; develops employees to their fullest potential; conducts formal and informal coaching; assists employees in establishing goals and objectives.

• Interviews and recommends candidates; facilitates new hire training and orientation.

• Recognizes and rewards employees for accomplishments; prepares and conducts annual performance reviews.

• Manages relationships with multiple third-party collection agencies.

• Ensures integrity and accountability for Sarbanes-Oxley compliance as applicable on payroll exposure management function, including consultations with internal auditors.

• Reviews and recommends changes to internal credit policies and procedures as needed.

• Provides information for miscellaneous reports on a monthly basis.

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assists in the accomplishment of Insperity Company goals.

• Helps other employees to accomplish Insperity Company goals.

• Performs other duties as may be assigned by department supervisor.

• Participates in the Disaster Recovery plan as required.

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Business is required.

• Seven to ten years of experience in a job-related field is required.

• Prior leadership experience is required.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS

• Ability to proficiently analyze and interpret financial statements including balance sheets, income statements, statements of cash flow, aging reports, debt covenants and other customarily prepared financial and credit reports.

• Strong business acumen and ability to comprehend complex business issues across various business units.

• Ability to think critically when conducting analyses, drawing reasoned conclusions based on sound data interpretation and input from other team members.

• Demonstrated aptitude for managing and sustaining client relationships, exhibiting a strong combination of interpersonal, analytical and decision-making skills.

• General knowledge of various state and federal labor regulations that govern the required amounts and frequency of wage disbursements.

• General knowledge of legal/financial ramifications of client bankruptcy filings.

• Effective problem solving and conflict resolution abilities.

• Communicates tactfully and effectively, both verbally and in writing, and maintains effective work relations with those encountered in the course of employment.

• Project management

• Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office programs and demonstrated ability to learn other computer applications as needed.
