Global Loyalty & Benefits Platform is part of the larger Enterprise Platforms Center of Excellence where product and engineering resources were brought together to improve speed to market and further unlock value across core capabilities. It serves a broad set of products and solutions across the enterprise that require close collaboration with colleagues who develop new card products, digital channels, marketing operations, membership rewards, co-brand programs, card benefits, insurance, analytics, operations excellence, and servicing.

We are looking for a talented and experienced Sr Product Manager to spearhead capabilities that support our modern platform to enable inner-sourcing objectives to meet for this new ecosystem. These capabilities support roadmap of our business products delivering exceptional customer value, achieving the vision of a global, composable modern Loyalty Platform.

Ideal candidates should have prior product experience, and should be comfortable operating in scrum format, supporting multiple engineering teams, aligning with other Product Managers, Program Managers, and Engineers to prioritize the backlog, develop user stories, and collaborate to deliver on Loyalty initiatives. This role is also expected to grow, mentor, and manage junior Product Owners and assure that their work achieves the desired outcomes.

You will consult with key business partners and stakeholders to articulate outcomes and expectations, tie initiatives to key metrics, and drive consensus around Minimum Viable Product (MVP) definitions. You will work with execution teams to ensure delivery of consistently high-quality, timely feature launches.

You will also be responsible for weighing initiatives against opportunity costs, feasibility, and product roadmaps. A key part of this role will be to build and foster a culture of agility and product ownership in close partnership with technology and business teams.

Responsibilities:

Collaborate with all stakeholders across Enterprise Platforms to leverage best practices and evaluate potential new opportunities and enhancements, share learnings across markets and Business Units, and enable demonstration of long-term value to American Express.

  • Works with customers, key partners, and colleagues to define a product vision and strategy that is aligned with the high-level product roadmap
  • Understands and applies new trends and market standard methodologies
  • Communicates and build consensus across disciplines in crafting the product roadmap.
  • Work with leadership to define and articulate a long-term product strategy and roadmap with clearly defined business metrics and targets.
  • Support development of appropriate tracking and reporting to track product performance post launch to evaluate future investment.
  • Produce return on investment analyses and optimization recommendations · Identify risks, challenges, opportunities, and business integration needs.
  • Enable cross-functional collaboration with relevant teams within the product scope.
  • Translates product roadmap into well-defined product requirements/user stories and acceptance test criteria
  • Leads and mentors associate product managers.
  • In conjunction with Director, supports the creation of a Product Backlog for a specific product.
  • Prioritizes and maintains the sprint backlog consistent with the Outcomes and Product Roadmap and performs story elaboration with the implementation team.
  • Partner with the design and technology teams to develop, test and deliver the defined capabilities and rapidly iterate new solutions.
  • Works closely with analytics and uses internal data tools to understand measure success and impact to critical metrics.
  • Reviews and accepts completed user stories.
  • Reviews/demonstrates sprint-related or general functionality with external partners and customers, including the Director of Product Management and other colleagues.
  • Coordinates communications and facilitates resolution of risks, issues, and changes tied to the product backlog.


Minimum Qualification:

  • 5+ years of experience in Product Management with proven track record in defining winning product constructs and delivering a product vision and strategy.
  • Experience with rapid and iterative software development methodologies.
  • Proven track record managing large, complex products with multiple partners
  • Team skills, including ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all levels within organization, internally and externally
  • Proficient knowledge of Agile and Scrum development methodologies and IT project management
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to consult with various stakeholders and drive to optimal requirements
  • Strong problem structuring and solving skills, reasoning, and implications development, combined with strong business acumen.
  • Knowledge of Loyalty Programs and associated products is desirable.
  • Proficient knowledge of Change Management practices.
  • Adaptability when initiatives need to deviate from original plans or shift direction based upon changing needs and priorities.
  • Strong experimental mindset to drive innovation amidst uncertainty.
  • Experience in transforming technology platforms is preferred.
  • Bachelor's Degree required; Bachelor's (or comparable experience) in computer science, engineering or a related technical discipline required. Master's degree preferred.
  • Must travel to office a minimum of three days per week, in alignment with team days


Qualifications

Salary Range: $90,000.00 to $165,000.00 annually + bonus + benefits
