Job Information

Role Objective:

The Media Cloud Technical Project Manager will be responsible for overseeing the successful delivery of cloud-based media solutions, coordinating with cross-functional teams, and ensuring projects meet customer requirements and deadlines. This role involves managing resources, timelines, and budgets while maintaining high standards of quality and service.

Key Responsibilities:

• Project Management : Lead and manage end-to-end project delivery, including planning, execution, monitoring, and closure of media cloud projects.

• Stakeholder Coordination : Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, vendors, and internal teams, ensuring clear communication and alignment on project goals.

• Technical Oversight : Collaborate with engineering and technical teams to define project scope, technical requirements, and deliverables. Provide guidance on cloud-based solutions, including deployment, scaling, and optimization.

• Risk Management : Identify potential risks and issues, develop mitigation strategies, and proactively resolve challenges to ensure project success.

• Resource Allocation : Manage project resources, including personnel and budget, to optimize project delivery and efficiency.

• Documentation and Reporting : Maintain detailed project documentation, including project plans, timelines, status reports, and post-project evaluations.

• Customer Engagement : Act as a customer advocate, ensuring their needs are met and expectations exceeded. Provide regular updates and manage client feedback.

• Quality Assurance : Ensure all projects adhere to industry standards and best practices for cloud infrastructure, security, and compliance.

Key Skills and Proficiencies:

• Project Management : Strong background in project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall), with proven experience managing technical projects from inception to delivery.

• Cloud Technologies : Deep understanding of cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, GCP), virtualization, and media streaming solutions. Experience with cloud resource management and optimization.

• Media and Streaming : Knowledge of video streaming technologies, protocols (HLS, RTMP, MPEG-DASH), and video compression standards.

• Technical Acumen : Ability to understand complex technical concepts and communicate them effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Communication : Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with experience presenting to clients and executive stakeholders.

• Problem Solving : Strong analytical skills and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues quickly and effectively.

• Leadership : Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams, motivate staff, and drive project success.

Qualification & Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; PMP or similar certification preferred.

• 5+ years of experience in project management, preferably in media, cloud computing, or a related industry.

• Familiarity with cloud media services, live video production, and OTT platforms is highly desirable.

• Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., JIRA, MS Project) and cloud service platforms.

• Availability for occasional travel and flexible hours to accommodate project needs, including live events.

• Experience with streaming solutions such as Wowza, Adobe Flash Media Server, and nginx-rtmp, knowledge of video streaming protocols such as HLS, RTSP, RTMP, MPEG-DASH, and HDS. Additionally, experience in deploying, managing, and troubleshooting video streaming services such as YouTube, Twitch, and Facebook Live.

• Skills- Video Encoding, Video Compression, Network Protocols, Streaming Technologies, Cloud Computing, Video Analytics, Quality Assurance.

• Understanding audio, visual and caption format standards (AVC, HEVC, AAC, ATMOS, WebVTT, IMSC, HDR/SDR, etc)

• Knowledge of associated media file formats standards (ISO base media file format, CMAF, fMP4, MPEG-2 TS)

• Experience in the field of video streaming, including commonly used streaming protocols such as HLS, DASH etc

• Knowledge of streaming network protocols such as SRT, RIST, RTP, UDP etc

• Experience with software performance optimization

• Experience using the CoreFoundation, AVFoundation and/or CoreMedia frameworks or equivalent technologies

• Worked with Open Source multimedia projects (FFMPEG, gstreamer)

• Experience deploying software on elastic platforms such as Kubernetes, EC2, etc
