The role you'll contribute:

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND JOB RESPONSIBILITIES :

• Designs and implements a clinical practice educational approach that facilitates the needs of the hospital.

• Actively teaches staff on topics related to mandatory education, competency testing and select topics in area of expertise.

• Plans, monitors and evaluates the financial resources for educational programs. Administers departmental budget and maintains financial records on expenditures for supplies and equipment.

• Plans, organizes and directs implementations and evaluation of standards of nursing practice in accordance with organization and departmental policies.

• Builds and maintains interdisciplinary teams, integrating their input into standard development to meet current and future clinical and service program needs.

• Identifies ongoing educational needs of Patient Care Services providers or selected groups and seeks ways to optimize resources in providing point of service, cost effective and value driven education with a programmatic approach of clinical practice education.

• Identified ongoing educational needs of Home Care Services providers or selected groups and seeks ways to optimize resources in providing point of service, cost effective and value driven education with a programmatic approach to clinical practice education.

• Coordinates the scheduling of Continuing Medical Education (CME) for medical staff for participation in Outreach Program. Prepares conference packet materials and notifies medical staff. Assures CME credit certificates, evaluation forms have been completed.

• Partner with schools within Central Florida to develop ongoing relationships with instructors and students.

• Provides guidance and direction to Childbirth Educator, Surgical Services Educator and Diagnostic Imaging Educator.

• Develop and implement the training curriculum for clinical and non-clinical area.

• Ensures the continuous assessment of improvement of the quality of care and services.

• Collaborates with other clinical department leadership team members to continuously identify retention strategies.

• Provides assistance to hospital departments in interpreting Joint Commission guidelines and requirements.

• Oversees the administration

Qualifications
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.

• BSN required.

• Minimum three to five years previous management experience in a hospital required.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE PREFERRED:

• Masters preferred.

• Previous teaching experience preferred.

LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION OR REGISTRATION REQUIRED:

• Valid license as a Registered Nurse in the State of Florida required.

• Must be CPR, BLS and ACLS certified.

• Must have or be willing to secure CPR and ACLS instructor certificate.
