Responsibilities

As the Manager of Internal Communications ( Technology Communications) , you will manage internal communications programs to support Ascension's information technology teams and will play a key role in ensuring projects meet objectives on time and on budget by increasing adoption and usage.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and drive the execution of a strategic and measurable internal communications plans
  • Provide internal communications counsel and support to Ascension leaders leaders
  • Develop internal communications content, campaigns and events that support our operational objectives and our internal brand
  • Proactively identify trends, risks, challenges and solutions to process adoption, and lead and support change communication efforts
  • Combine strategic thinking and big-picture perspective with attention to detail, clarity and focus
  • Ensure that communications reflect the Mission, Vision and Values of Ascension as a healing ministry of the Catholic Church
  • Maintain flexible availability and responsiveness both during and outside of normal work hours as necessary


Complexity of Work:

  • Requires outstanding writing skills, critical thinking skills, strategic counseling skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a high-performance environment. Experience in the healthcare industry is a plus.

Requirements

Education:

  • High School diploma equivalency with 3 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Bachelor's degree with 2 years of cumulative experience OR 7 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
  • 3 years of leadership or management experience preferred.

Additional Preferences

Education:

  • Bachelor's level degree. 3 years of leadership or management experience
  • Journalism, English, or Communications degree preferred


Work Experience:

  • Experience with implementing large-scale change communications efforts in the healthcare technology space
  • Ability to write and edit engaging and visually appealing change communications
  • Experience supporting senior leaders with strategic communications counsel
  • Experience planning and managing a coordinated content approach that directly impacts engagement of key audiences in support of our business goals
  • Strong collaboration skills with other team members
  • Proven driver and communicator across matrixed organizations, helping to gain internal buy-in and support
  • Clinical technology communications experience preferred
