The Manager of Population Health Operations for the LA South Region will play a critical role in managing provider practice performance across risk adjustment and quality operations. This person will be a core member of Optum CA's Population Health team and will report to the Sr. Manager, Population Health Operations. Core responsibilities include overseeing Practice Performance Consultants, relationships with Provider Relations team, and holding the portfolio of action plans for providers across the LA South care delivery market in CA.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Support Sr. Manager and IPA operations team to identify strategies for high volume provider engagement
  • Manage portfolio of high-volume provider action plans and manage practice performance team in executing on action plans
  • Manage day to day relationship with the provider relations / network management team on logistics / data and other needs for managing high volume IPA offices
  • Point of contact for IPA operations team to support systems and patient outreach such as pursuit tools, payments, incentives, data, etc.
  • Manage overall data and reporting quality assurance for provider pursuit including all payment and incentive related data
  • Lead overall provider outlier / low performance identification strategy and action plan development
  • Lead quarterly plan review with provider relations, Sr Manager, Sr director, and medical leadership
  • Manage team of 3-6 Practice Performance consultants who are responsible for visiting target offices and supporting action plan execution
  • Manage performance of the APCs including reporting, performance, and productivity / reporting / data
  • Oversees lookback and amend process, incomplete management, downtime workflows for APCs
  • Develop subject matter expertise on population health functions such as risk adjustment, quality, and new patient pursuit

Required Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of relevant experience (e.g., consulting, strategy, healthcare operations, health plans, business analysis, project management, program management )
  • Proficiency in MSWord, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
  • Solid computer literacy and proficiency
  • Willingness and ability to travel to provider offices as needed

California Residents Only: The salary range for this role is $88,000 to $173,200 annually. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
