Job Summary: The Manager of OTIDE IT Operations oversees the daily operations of IT for OTIDE, including overall IT strategic planning, policies, personnel management, and customer support. Creates, maintains, and implements OTIDE-wide technology security policies for hardware and software resources.
Additional Department Summary: Directs IT operations for continuity, data security and integrity, overseeing support functions, and planning strategically for OTIDE IT needs. Understands the organizational needs from various perspectives and communicates IT information to all users as appropriate for IT needs. Serves on the OTIDE leadership team. Oversees all technology aspects, including purchasing, customer support, managing licenses, researching and selecting software and hardware, platforms, security, etc.
Required Minimum Qualifications: Master's degree and two (2) years of IT experience; OR bachelor's degree and four (4) years of IT experience; OR associate's degree and six (6) years of IT experience; OR high school diploma or GED and eight (8) years of IT experience.
Additional Required Department Minimum Qualifications: Must have valid U.S. driver's license. Must be at least 19 years of age at time of hire and have an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report that is in compliance with University policies. Applicants under the age of 21 will have some driving restrictions.
Skills and Knowledge: Ability to effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing, with users of varying degrees of technical ability and understanding. Effective time management skills and ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and manage staff. Ability to coordinate data systems policies and procedures, experience with implementation and assessment of data systems. Ability to problem solve. Ability to work effectively in a team environment with a wide range of people.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience in IT in higher education. Experience in the design and development of web applications, advanced familiarity with database management systems (such as MS SQL Server), SQL, business intelligence reporting tools (such as Argos and/or MS Power BI). Experience in IT strategy and systems. Knowledge of operating systems and hardware and current knowledge of relevant state-of-the-art technology, equipment, and/or systems. Knowledge of hardware and software related to (1) teaching and learning at a distance, (2) facilities scheduling (3) student CRM and prospect management, (4) noncredit software that includes online registration and payment processes including credit card processing and knowledge of PCI, and (5) Content Management Systems (CMS).
