The Manager, Pilot Fatigue and Ops Risk Management will support departmental and corporate goals by managing and facilitating Delta's Pilot Fatigue Program. The candidate will be expected to present information related to fatigue safety risks to the appropriate Delta divisions as well as outside entities and ensure that Flight Safety follows Delta's high standards of quality and the operational safety data policy.

Primary Functions:
- Responsible for all of Flight Operations efforts to manage fatigue related risk required by Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs), to include the Fatigue Risk Management Plan (FRMP) and Fatigue Risk Management System (FRMS), and the Fatigue Education Awareness Training (FEAT).
- Manages the tracking, trending, and resolution system for fatigue and discrepancy reports submitted through Flight Operations information sources.
- Interfaces with the Federal Aviation Administration through headquarters, the Certificate Management Office, and the Aircraft Evaluation Group.
- Prepares all regulatory reporting to support FAR117 continuous monitoring requirements.
- Partners with Flight Ops Quality Assurance to prepare applications and updates to Operations Specifications regarding FRMP, FRMS, and FEAT.
- Collaborates in multiple areas with the pilot labor representatives and oversees the Fatigue Safety Action Group (FSAG) and the Fitness Review Board (FRB).
- Manages large subjective and objective human performance data collection efforts in collaboration with university and government scientists through research initiatives.
- Develops FAR117 required fatigue training for flight crew members and operational support staff.
- Facilitates the required educational briefings for new hire pilot indoctrination classes.
- Participates in industry working groups.
- Coordinates with Flight Safety team members to evaluate fatigue risk in the internal process
- when investigating incidents and accidents.
- Creates and develops fatigue related reporting KPIs for continuous monitoring.
- Supports Flight Safety presentations at the appropriate divisional meetings.

What you need to succeed (minimum qualifications)
- Able to work in the Atlanta General Offices.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent job experience.
- Must have at least 2 years' experience working in a Fatigue/Human Factors program at a Part 121 carrier, industry organization, or government agency.
- Strong knowledge of FAR Part 117.
- Must have some level of relevant analytical/project management experience.
- Must have the ability to understand pilot aviation terms and be familiar with pilot related skills and procedures.
- Must be able to communicate with other Delta divisions, outside organizations, and governmental agencies effectively and professionally.
- Must have Safety Management System (SMS) knowledge.
- Ability to accurately present information via multiple methods including written reports, presentations, and face to face communications.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Strong written, oral communication, and interpersonal skills.
- A natural curiosity towards constant improvement.
- Must have ability to produce clear, concise, and effective communications (written and verbal)
- Must have good interpersonal skills and ability to work closely with peers.
- Must be performing satisfactorily in current position.
- Consistently prioritizes safety and security of self, others, and personal data.
- Embraces diverse people, thinking, and styles.
- Is at least 18 years of age and has authorization to work in the United States.
What will give you a competitive edge (preferred qualifications)
- Able to demonstrate leadership of cross-divisional working groups.
- Smartsheet, PowerBI, and/or Tableau skills
- A working knowledge of safety metrics.
- Experience with industry fatigue management software and tools preferred (SAFTE-FAST, BAM, etc.)
