Responsibilities

Plans, organizes, supervises, coordinates and controls the activities within various projects for the Engineering Department. Responsible for all coordination of facility projects, both on and off campus, to include light construction, redesign and renovations. Negotiates contracts, timelines, and expenses. Orders and processes all inventory for projects, prepares budget and cost estimates. Works with contractor vendors and outside sales people to assure job is compete within time constraints and according to all rules and regulations. Reports status of projects to Administration and other levels of leadership. Must possess a thorough knowledge of ACHA, OSHA, TJC and local AHJ. Responsible for permitting projects as needed. Communicates directly with ACHA, to assure appropriate approval process. Coordinates resources used in each project, from cradle to grave. Directly manages project staff, manages productivity and overtime. Assures that all safety (PPE) equipment is available and used correctly. Responsible for the Infection Control process, and interim life safely measures ,during projects. Responsible for the inspection documentation.

Communicates on all levels, to staff the impact a project(s) may have on the departmental operations Demonstrates Service Excellence at all times. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

High School Diploma or GED equivalency, 4 - 7 years hands on experience in all aspects of Engineering & Maintenance.

Utilities and total building repairs associated with the health care industry.

Knowledgeable in all JCAHO, AHCA, State & Local rules & regulations, including all policies and procedures for Engineering and Safety.

Ability to determine facility problems and repairs to safety and efficiently correct each problem.

Min 4 years of management exp with facility projects preferred

Evaluating safety deficiencies, failures of equipment, etc.

Broad knowledge of HVAC, mechanical/electrical repairs.
